2D handrawn animation.

I drew the background once, scanned it in, and placed the separately drawn characters and props on top to create the animation

This is the same drawing as the one on the left, except this has been colored in photoshop and the characters have been separated from the background and I gave the animation some sound and a slight 3D effect using After Effects
